Tim Grunhard was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, and attended St. Laurence High School.
Tim is a 1990 graduate of The University of Notre Dame where he was an All American
offensive lineman and a member of the 1988 Irish National Championship team. He was a
second-round draft pick in 1990 by the Kansas City Chiefs. Tim enjoyed an 11-year NFL
career, all as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs, earning a spot in the 1999 Pro Bowl. In
1997 he was the Chiefs/True Value Man of the Year for his community service involvement.
Tim was inducted into the Kansas City Chiefs Ring of Honor in 2021. Following his
professional career, Tim coached at St. Pius X and Bishop Miege High School, with the NFL
Europe League in Cologne, Germany, and with the University of Kansas. He is currently a
special guest analyst on Sports Radio 810 WHB and is a Past President of the Kansas City
Chiefs Ambassadors organization. Tim and his wife Sarah, also a Notre Dame graduate,
reside in Mission Hills, Kansas. They are proud parents to CJ, Cailey and Colin (all University of
Notre Dame graduates), and Catherine who is a graduate of Saint Louis University.
