On Saturday, July 15, “The Mentors” radio host and mentor Ric Brutocao interviews Rand Sperry, CEO of Sperry Equities and Sperry Commercial. On the show, these two long-time friends dig deep into Sperry’s fascinating career. He started with just one real estate deal at age 20 and along the way grew a national real estate investment firm.

During the hour-long show, Sperry will cull from his vast experience in just about every type of market possible over the years to reveal his insights into today’s real estate market, and his best suggestions for making money in real estate.

“Remember, business is about managing risk, and for that matter so is life,” says Brutocao, “We can learn so much from those who have traveled the path before us. Rand, as is true of all our guests, has great stories, marvelous experiences and powerful tips that can help each of us minimize our own risks, stimulate creative thinking and find solutions to the challenges and opportunities we each face daily. As host, it’s exciting to be part of that process for others!”

At age 20, Rand Sperry took a chance, making a single real estate purchase. That single purchase grew into a national company with commercial assets in 10 states. He also co-founded The Sperry Van Ness Company in 1987, which grew national in size by 2000. In every case, his mission and focus has remained single-minded, namely, to create unprecedented value for commercial associates and their clients.

Just about everyone, at some point in their lives, will be involved in a real estate transaction. It might be purchasing a home, a public REIT, commercial space for a company, private investment with an LLC such as Rand offers, or another opportunity. Rand’s perspective and insights will be terrifically helpful to anyone involved in any real estate deal, so tune in and send questions into the show.
Host Ric Brutocao is one of the rotating CEO hosts of “The Mentors” radio show whose CEO expertise includes past president of DACOR, partnering with and re-structuring companies in such varied industries as wine, baking, real estate and nonprofits, as well as starting, leading and selling various companies in the tech space. Several of his peers consider Brutocao to be one of the best operational leaders they’ve ever met and will call on him to help them out as needed.

One of Brutocao’s greatest passions is helping others succeed in achieving their dreams and finding fulfillment. Mentoring others is something he and all “The Mentors” hosts have done and continue to do, regardless of how busy they are.

The following week, host John Phillips will host the show. Phillips is the co-founder and co-owner, with his wife, Mary, of one of the largest and most customer-centric stained glass window companies in the industry–Associated Crafts & Willet-Hauser, some of whose legacy stained glass are more than a century old, will focus on the nuts and bolts of how to build a great business that stands the test of time. Following Phillips in the hosting rotation will be “The Mentors” host Tom Loarie, a pioneering CEO in the life sciences industry who is responsible for bringing more than 20 medical devices to market, some of them life-saving.
